Dani & Matt’s Relaxed Outdoor Wedding at Deer Park
There’s something incredibly special about seeing one of our Annabel Sarah Bridal brides on her wedding day, especially when her bridal journey began with a dress she had already spotted on Instagram and simply couldn’t forget.
For Dani and Matt Bull, their story took them from a poolside proposal in Sri Lanka to a beautiful, relaxed outdoor wedding at Deer Park Weddings in Eckington.
Their wedding day was everything they wanted it to be: laid-back, family-focused and surrounded by the outdoors, with plenty of space for the children to explore. And for Dani, there was one very special wedding dress that she had fallen in love with before she'd even stepped through our doors.
The Proposal: Sri Lanka, a Poolside Moment & a Ring Dani Already Loved
Matt proposed to Dani in beautiful Sri Lanka, beside the pool, when Dani was 16 weeks pregnant.
There was just one slight complication… Dani had already chosen her engagement ring and knew exactly what was waiting for her!
“I’d chosen my ring already and was stropping because I wasn’t allowed it, and I was hormonal!”
Thankfully, Matt didn't make her wait forever, and Sri Lanka became the setting for the beginning of their next chapter together as the future Mr & Mrs Bull.
Falling in Love With Deer Park Weddings
When Dani and Matt began thinking about their wedding venue, Deer Park Weddings in Eckington, Worcestershire wasn't somewhere they had originally set out to find.
They stumbled across the venue one afternoon while exploring the area. After discovering that Deer Park offered wine tours, Dani booked one for Matt's birthday.
They fell in love with the venue and unexpectedly booked their wedding there that very same afternoon.
“We fell in love and booked it that afternoon unexpectedly.”
As a couple who love being outdoors, Deer Park felt completely right for them. They wanted their wedding day to have a chilled, relaxed atmosphere rather than feeling overly formal, and they loved that there were plenty of places for the children to explore and escape to throughout the celebrations.
It gave Dani and Matt exactly the kind of relaxed, family-focused Worcestershire wedding they had imagined.
Dani’s Wedding Dress Journey at Annabel Sarah Bridal
When it was time to find her wedding dress, Annabel Sarah Bridal was the very first bridal boutique Dani visited.
But there was already one dress on her mind.
Dani had spotted the gown on our Instagram before her appointment and had completely fallen in love with it, despite it being nothing like the wedding dress she had originally imagined herself wearing.
As soon as she arrived for her appointment with Sally, she knew exactly which dress she wanted to see.
“I said to Sally when I arrived, ‘It’s that one.’”
Before trying on the dress, Dani explored another four or five gowns. They were similar to the styles she had previously thought she wanted and gave her the opportunity to really understand what she liked.
But nothing felt quite right.
Then she put on the dress she'd originally seen on Instagram.
“The second I put on the dress, I burst into tears and just knew.”
Sometimes, you really do just know.
What Made Dani Say Yes to Her Wedding Dress?
Dani's chosen wedding dress was completely different from what she'd originally imagined, and that was part of what made it so perfect.
When we asked what ultimately made her choose it, her answer was wonderfully simple:
“I felt comfortable. I loved everything about it.”
But it was also the unusual details that made the gown stand apart.
Dani loved that her wedding dress felt different. From the beautiful statement sleeves to the intricate detailing and gorgeous glitter underlace, there were so many elements that made it feel unique.
Most importantly, she felt completely herself wearing it.
And that's something we always want our brides to remember: the right wedding dress isn't necessarily the one that matches the picture you created in your head before you started shopping.
Sometimes it's the dress you never expected.
Becoming Mr & Mrs Bull at Deer Park Weddings
Dani and Matt's finished wedding day at Deer Park Weddings reflected them perfectly.
The beautiful outdoor surroundings created the relaxed atmosphere they had wanted from the beginning, while giving their children plenty of space to explore and enjoy the day too.
Dani's bridal look worked beautifully against the countryside setting, with the detailing, sleeves and subtle sparkle of her wedding dress creating something romantic but a little different.
From an unexpected venue discovery to a wedding dress that wasn't remotely what Dani initially thought she'd wear, so many of the best parts of their wedding came from being open to something different.
And the result was completely them.
Dani’s Advice for Future Brides
After finding her dream wedding dress in a style she hadn't originally imagined herself wearing, Dani has one very important piece of advice for future brides:
“Try on everything. Even if you think, ‘No, not for me,’ try it. Be 100% sure, you never know.”
We couldn't agree more.
Wedding dress shopping can surprise you. You might arrive convinced you want a fitted crepe wedding dress and fall in love with lace. You might have saved hundreds of A-line wedding dresses and discover you adore a completely different silhouette.
Your bridal appointment is your opportunity to experiment.
You don't have to love every dress you try, sometimes discovering what you don't like is just as useful. But keeping an open mind might lead you to the dress you never knew you were looking for.
