Unforgettable Moments: Michelle & Dave's Bordesley Park Wedding

The Proposal

Dave proposed to Michelle on the 29th July 2022, they were on holiday in Cornwall where Michelle had been with her family all her life, so it was a very special place. Michelle and Dave went up onto their special rock and he told her to look out to sea so he could take a picture for Instagram, then he said stay there and I'll get one with you. When he came, tentatively down the rock she turned around and he was on his knee, she thought he'd fallen over and asked if he was ok and did he need a hand getting up, he then asked Michelle if she'd marry him and she said yes and cried!

The Wedding

Michelle and Dave chose Bordesley Park Wedding Venue and absolutely loved it there, Ben and Charlotte were amazing. The venue was perfect and very relaxed, they were over-the-moon with happiness on their special day. The wedding party's outfits were on the semi formal side and it was just everything they wanted.

'The Dress' Experience in Michelle's own words

"First I went to another independent shop and the bridal stylist knew it was my first time, so I almost felt like she knew I wasn't going to buy anything so just got me in everything and to be honest it was completely overwhelming. I then went to a big bridal chain store and found a dress I really liked and very nearly bought it, it was however so so heavy, very similar shape to my dress on the day but my mum convinced me to go to a few more shops to try and get a more personal feel as I felt so pressured at that shop. A friend of mine then said about Annabel Sarah Bridal in Bidford and how she loved it there but found her dress at another boutique. So I then came to Annabel Sarah Bridal Boutique and tried on the most beautiful dresses and that is when I found my dress. As I am an incredibly indecisive person, I had another appointment booked at another boutique so I still went and felt the experience and dresses weren't on par with what id just experienced at Annabel's. So I came back to try on the three dresses I was choosing between when I felt I already knew which I wanted.

When I put my dress back on I was just beaming. My sister's and brother all got married the year before and wore dresses with tulle and lace so I wanted something clean, classic and different, but I also wanted to me comfy and relaxed. It was so striking as it was, I was so so happy with it.

I loved how beautiful I felt in it. It was so light and movable and it had pockets!!! It was so so comfy and classic."

The Styling

Michelle and Dave had looked around Bordesley Park when it was set up for a wedding so they used similar layouts and themes, but they knew they wanted a light pink theme with another colour. The wedding house Droitwich supplied the styling for their wedding and it looked incredible.

What advice would Michelle give to brides now?

"Do what you feel is right, don't ever feel pressured into anything, and most importantly relax and enjoy the day.

Make a conscious note to pause on your day to take it in!"
